Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, an artist's daughter, born in Mexico, was born to a music-loving family. The music she grew up with was the old and classical boleros as well traditional romantic, ranchero, as well as romance ballads. Ana likes tangos as much as opera and various dramatic kinds. She was taught by her mother to sing. She began an intensive training in vocals under Flavio Belcerra when she was just 16 years old. Belcerra was an internationally renowned Mexican opera tenor. Her musical education continued at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and later at the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. While a young student and professional, she sang with numerous chamber ensembles and opera choirs in Guadalajara as well as Mexico City. After 2000, she moved back to America. United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Then, in 2007, she relocated to her present home in Southern California. She currently performs classical Latin American songs at private occasions as a soloist. She is involved with many local activities, both performer and teacher, due to her passion for art and music. Ana was also part of the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is currently teaching for The Performance Loft. Ana hopes that through the sharing her love of Latin American traditional songs, to instill enthusiasm, specifically in the younger generations to keep this tradition vibrant.
